Carthage died on May 23rd 2026, in his 93rd year, peacefully with his family at Tullamore Regional Hospital and previously in the loving and kind care of the staff at Carthage Nursing Home, Mucklagh. He was late of Bord na Móna, was formerly of Morrough, Rahan and was predeceased by his beloved parents Joe and Bridget, and brothers Noel, Eamon and Finian. Carthage will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving sister Olivia (White) and brother Eugene, brother-in-law Liam, sister-in-law Ursula, nieces, especially Carol, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, extended family, and a wide circle of friends.
Carthage will repose at Lawless’ Funeral Home, Mucklagh on Monday evening (May 25th) from 4pm until Removal at 6pm to St. Carthage’s Church, Killina arriving at 6.30pm. His Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday (May 26th) at 11am, and may be viewed on https://rahanparish.ie/killina-webcam/ . Carthage will be laid to rest afterwards in Rahan Cemetery.

Peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the wonderful care of the staff in Carthage Nursing Home, Mucklagh. Pre-deceased by his beloved wife Kathleen, 2 infant sons, infant daughter and his granddaughter Sórcha. Kieran will be sadly missed by his children Ann, Julie, Trisha, Christine, Ger, Paddy and Paul, grandchildren Ciara, Sinéad, Louis, Ewan, Luke and Bonnie, great grandchildren Kayla-Rose, Tara and Millie-Mae, sons in law, daughters in law, his sister Sheila, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Carthage Nursing Home, Mucklagh on Tuesday from 4pm until Removal at 6pm to St Colman’s Church, Mucklagh, arriving at 6.30pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday morning at 11am. Burial after Mass in the adjoining Old Cemetery.

Bridget (Bridie) Higgins, Caherdavin, Co. Limerick. late of Ballykeenaghan, Rahan, Tullamore, Offaly.
Bridie died on May 7th 2026, in the loving care of the staff at Thorpe’s Nursing Home, Clarina, Co. Limerick. She was late of De Beers, Shannon. Bridie was predeceased by her beloved parents John and Mary Higgins, Ballykeenaghan, Rahan, her brothers John, Joe, Dan, Michael, and Jim, and sisters, Bennie and Kathleen, nephew Tony Higgins, and niece Maureen Brennan.
Bridie is survived by her niece Anne and nephews Laurence and Joseph, many grandnephews, and grandnieces, cousins, extended family, and a wide circle of friends.
Bridie’s Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Sunday morning (May 10th) at 10.30am in St. Carthage’s Church, Killina, Rahan and may be viewed on https://rahanparish.ie/.killina-webcam/ and afterwards she will be laid to rest in Rahan Cemetery.
